The only solutions I could find on Google, is the steps I took above.

Just had a MicroSoft tech reset my Windows to an earlier version. Initially that didn't solve the issue however something in our conversation clicked and I manually turned the toggle above my camera off and then on again.
I have tried this multiple times and it seems to have solved the issue. The tech had mentioned that it is a safely feature built into the camera and, for some reason, now it appears that I have to turn the camera off manually after I get the error message and then turn it back on. Sometimes I have to reposition the lens so that workinng can see me but it seems to solve the issue. Annoying to have to do that but at least I now have the camera back. Hope this helps.
Sorry to have to say that this has proven to be a temp solution. Unfortunately the problem persists. Camera is basically still non-operational. Really thought this had solved how to make zoom in laptop issue. I have a similar problem with my t laptops. These machines are no longer supported by Lenovo.

Nothing makes sense. The white LED next to the camera is on but the image is black. This is the same with the camera app, Zoom, Skype, etc. There must be someone in the Microsoft community that knows what the problem is. Does anyone know what is going on? Is this an error that can be fixed, or is this an area of instability in the operating system?

I have thought about opening up the back of the computer but not really sure about that. I will have to watch some video's on how to do it before I attempt that. The computer's an all in one so, if I botch it up, then I'm really in trouble.
